Minister’s visit highlights Luton’s work with young people
It was a pleasure to welcome Sarah Jones, Policing Minister, to Luton Youth Partnership Service and showcase how we support children and young people through early intervention and restorative practice. By addressing emerging antisocial and offending behaviour, we help young people understand the impact of their actions, make positive changes and, where appropriate, take meaningful steps to repair harm. Our Victim Liaison and Restorative Justice Team also highlighted how the experiences and needs of victims are considered within this work. The visit was also an opportunity for members of Luton Youth Council to share young people’s views on safety, opportunities and the issues affecting them across the town. Together, these conversations demonstrated how youth voice, victim support and restorative approaches form part of our wider commitment to preventing escalation, reducing antisocial and offending behaviour and contributing to a safer Luton for everyone!
